Dinky Toys appeared on the market in 1933 in Liverpool, England when Meccano Ltd produced the minature diecast model cars, vans, lorries. Initially Dinky toys were intended to be used as model railway accessories.
During the 1930s a large number of Dinky toys were manufactured but World War II brought a halt to their production. Most popular amongst Dinky Toys were thirty nine sports cars, these were made alongside buses, trucks, ships, aircrafts, military vehicles.
Corgi Toys also started production in the 1930s produced by Mettoy Company of Northampton Corgi toys manufactured mainly cars the most famous being James Bonds Aston Martin car.
